I am very interested in recreating the creation effort already attempted with Proto-Indo-European and Ancient Greek. We really need a site for discussions on the various versions of Classical Greek, Koine, Attic, Ionic, Homeric, etc. Proto-Indo-European today is a necessity for everyone who studies the linguistics of Indo-European languages. It's undeniable true that we may fall short of people for a site just with Attic Greek or Pie. So I thought that we could expand it to other Indo-European ancient languages, of related interest, such as: Hittite, Biblic Armenian, Anatolian, Celtic and Sanskrit? I think we will feel at home together. Or perhaps we should joint efforts for Semitic and Indo-European in a site for eventually emancipate an autonomous site some day. I would really like to know the opinion of my colleagues, especially if anyone still has the willpower to help in this effort.

  • I'm still hanging onto the dream of having Egyptian, Akkadian, Sumerian, etc. included. Commented Jul 14, 2024 at 17:42
  • Maybe someday we could build a Semitic group as well. I'm sure the biblical enthusiasts will like to have Hebrew included. Commented Jul 14, 2024 at 17:54

  • Perhaps this site isn't the best place for it, but I used to run an Ancient Mediterranean/Near East forum many, many years ago. I've always thought to resurrect that, but forums, especially academically minded ones, are a dying breed. Commented Aug 29, 2024 at 4:59
